Matt Coyle

Matt Coyle was born in 1971 and grew up in Canberra, Australia. After studying painting at Sydney College of the Arts, Coyle turned his attention to graphic novels. His first book Registry of Death, written by Peter Lamb, was published by Kitchen Sink Press in 1996 and his second graphic novel, The Trespasser remains unpublished.

His most recent work Worry Doll was published in 2007 by Mam Tor Publishing (UK). At the time of the book's release an exhibition of limited edition prints from Worry Doll was held at the Damien Minton Gallery in Redfern, Sydney. Work from Worry Doll has also been exhibited in Hobart at Criterion Gallery and Auckland at Sanderson Contemporary Art.

Since completeing Worry Doll, Coyle’s work has been focused on a series of stand alone drawings titled Night Stills. These drawings will be exhibited at Uber Gallery in Melbourne in August 2008.
